The US Department of Homeland Security requires
either a social security number (individual) or tax ID number (business)
for imports to USA. It is a post "9/11" measure to guard
against terrorism. It is designed to ensure individuals do not import
items that by themselves or in conjunction with other items can
be used for a malicious purpose. Without this information we will
not be able to ship your order to you.

IMPORT REQUIREMENTS
 "The
current policy was written prior to September 11, 2001 and does
not reflect the current need for accurate and advanced Ultimate
Consignee data so that arriving shipments can be effectively targeted
for security and enforcement examinations."
"All merchandise coming into the United States
must clear Customs....
The U.S. Customs Service does not require an importer to have a
license or permit... Customs entry forms do ask for your importer
number. This is either your IRS business registration number, or
if your business is not registered with the IRS or you do not have
a business, your social security number."

Your social security number is only recorded on the customs document.
All files are kept under lock and key and we do not keep any computer
records of this information.
We understand that some people are reluctant to
share this information.
If you prefer, you may provide this information directly to our
Customs Broker (Great Lakes Customs Brokers). We will provide a
toll-free phone number and contact information upon request.
Another option you may consider is using
a business IRS Tax ID #. If you have a business or a friend or acquaintance
that will let use their number, we can address the invoice copy
to them and ship the sauna to you. We will include your own invoice
for you to keep for your records.
